To anwser your question yes you would have to pay both the loan off on the apt building AND your mothers equity loan off as well.

I let a second slide, wasn't worth messing with at about 7K, but kept collection efforts current, the first was a slow pay but they kept it up, my demands were falling on deaf ears and they had issues and I knew they were ill and eventually head to a nursing home, or worse, and they were not elderly.
