Put smoke alarms in every room, and at least 2 fire extinguishers a fair distance away from the stove. 

Trying to limit the travel for the GC.

I'm on two sides of the equation in my two different businesses because one is a service business and the other is a travel company.

@Nicole Heasley - as I am getting thrown into a group without you knowing anything about me or who I am, just to let you know I have been investing in Cleveland for quite some time, have travelled to the city several, several times over the years and currently operate a business in the city with a local partner. 

Home is an hour from my personal home and my GC partner. we were fortunate that our contractors were willing to travel for the work (cost us a bit for travel time) Did you work with any real estate professionals (agents, lenders, etc.) that you'd recommend to others?

I travel to just north of poughkeepsie twice a week to visit my family and ill be looking for work come july!

My neighboring tenants smoke so much weed that the smell fills my half of the duplex.

We don't reside in the same town, let alone state, and have been closing in a single location (this means traveling for one of us).

Single family, multifamily, long term rentals, short term rentals, traveling nurses, etc? 

Even without winter weather people travel, see family and just don't want to deal if they don't have to.
