The city is growing, with lots of new restaurants, festivals, etc which provide great returns for vacation rentals.

You can also take a loan from the 401(k)As @Sean Carroll mentioned if you were buying real estate for investment purposes only (not to live in personally) there are self directed retirement accounts that allow you to invest in real estate to grow your retirement wealth.

If you plan to do that it is okay but remember to run your numbers with that scenario.Brandon has said many times the first property you buy won't make you financially rich... it's the education and confidence that will lead you to the next deal and the next deal and the next deal... that will.

Also remember one cannot control mother nature, and so things like hurricanes or flooding happen sometimes.Hope this helps.
