You will start to grasp all of the different benefits of owning real estate and learn the different real estate investing strategies pretty quick.Plus your experience as a firefighter probably will translate over to your investing business, just because you are getting a very deep perspective on different neighborhoods all around your market.

Take deep breaths, talk things out, make sure finances are up front and not hidden.

BTW I was sympathetic to Roy's discussion of non religious people or those of different faiths but I just have to add that the true story that one of my tenants is muslim and he started celebrating Christmas, so deep is it in the culture here in North America.

@Jake Drappi Its kind of tough to evaluate entire counties as markets, in order to do a thorough analysis on these counties you would have to take a deep dive into each of the 107 towns that comprise them.

We work on garage conversion and new construction ADUs, and we see a lot of these detached 2+2 car garages behind multiunit buildings.They are almost always in pretty bad shape structurally -- footings aren't deep enough, roof framing is too small and too widely spaces, roof framing is running side-to-side rather than front-to-back (so we have to put beams in and additional footings in when we remove portions of the walls that separate parking bays), ceiling height is too low, etc.
