To my understanding in real estate law  a person cannot stop paying arbitrarily because of issues  if they are residing in the property they still should pay in lieu of findings from a court etc  if they have not paid you  for your monthly rent  then your recourse is to evict them . of course going to the legal process which unfortunately take some time  if you  PM me  I will send you the statue that you can show to them that hopefully  causes them to continually pay  it would be different if you were a  bad landlord and wasn't trying to take care of the property  they should see that you are remedy the situation it sounds to me that they are just trying to take advantage of the situation or honestly believe that they are in the right

It seems to me, he use to advocate tied performance and rent credits - though not to the degree of many (there are a couple of websites out there advertising "passive" Rent-to-Own: you put up the money, they find the property and lessee / buyer - where the agreements appear to be tied.We do not have the equivalent of Dodd-Frank and the Safe Act here ... yet ... but do not be surprised if we follow the lead.
