I called a friend who grew up near and worked on that college campus.

I grew up in Las Canteras and know the city well.

I grew up in Lincoln NE doing fix and flip then renting to college kids.I quickly learned about how much turnover and repairs eat into all that rental income.RE is about becoming wealthy over a long period of time and to do that you have to buy stable long term investments with the least amount of problems to deal with along the way.

It is very different than the state I grew up in as a child.

I like the area we're in and wouldn't mind buying this house as I grew up coming here all the time and we love it, but I don't want to put all our eggs in this basket and be screwed financially in the long run.

Rich -I grew up in Eugene til we moved to Portland in 80' ... and you're right, it'll probably being raining (as it always does) in Portland which drives me nuts as well so another good excuse to get away.

Although I dont own any properties in Atlanta I deal with investors on  a daily basis concerning their properties, I also grew up in the Atlanta area so I have a pretty good idea of whats going on.  

We started with a single flip 3 years ago and grew to more than 141 Units (between completed and in the pipeline to be completed this year) and a development pipeline that has swelled to over $30 million (between completed and in the pipeline to be completed this year). 

As someone who grew up in Huntsville, I love seeing people continue to invest in the growth of the community.
