I would STRONGLY suggest you talk with your real estate attorney before doing anything.

My suggestion to you would be to consult with the local building department. 

You may want to share the story with the case worker who could suggest she port to a different market.I had a similar situation, but not nearly as bad as yours.  

I feel this may be the only way to afford a home in California..If you have any other suggestions I have not listed here, please advise!

Bob, thanks for your reply, at what point would you say the tipping point is for adding a part time Bookeeper in the future as you suggested?

I would suggest calling a few Realtors and ask them to give you a valuation, or atleast pull a few comps for you.
