They want investors to have more skin in the game.

A partner will expect some skin in the game from you.

With that said, even with a recession I don't think the drop would be as severe since most people buying now have more skin in the game due to stricter lending standards.

When your offer is weak (FHA on a 4 plex) you need to be aggressive, thick skinned and persistent.

Its a rough industry that can & will chew you up & spit you out if you do not have thick enough skin to push emotion to the side & make the tough calls based on the bottom line.

When I still look stunned, they said "OK, we want to see some skin in the game", pointing to me, "meaning you".Now seasoned cash usually means cash which you had in the bank, usually savings, for normally a year or more. 

Is your family here interested, if your they are your boots on the ground then maybe you could get them to have skin in the game too.
