I am not from real estate background and have been referred to bigger pockets by friends.

I've been a licensed agent here in Maine at the Augusta-based Pouliot Real Estate for the last 2 years, but began my real estate career in Savannah, Georgia (my GA license is currently inactive).

I'm a real estate investor in other parts of the country but not NY due to the extremely high buy in price.

Have you read, "Long-Distance Real Estate Investing" by David Greene?

I find that it's almost a one stop shop in that I can use it for my business checking and savings accounts, bookkeeping, for rent collection, I can issue virtual credit card, I can create all the financial reports I need to run my real estate business and prepare for tax filing and through their partners I can vet my tenants, develop state-specific leases and more.

No one accountant is an expert in all areas in the tax code, so best to figure out what you want first in the world of real estate and then dive deeper there.
