I would call around to local banks and credit unions, and see if any of them are willing to offer more relaxed standards than others.

This also means in next decade, ADU is the new normal, which means...price going to be cheaper as rules would be relaxed.

And well.. if you’re stressed at least you know where you can get something to relax.

The board is very relaxed and I was fortunate to establish a very good relationship with the president of the board during my due diligence period.

I find it much more relaxing than being stuck in traffic, however.

And, depending on the municipal occupancy laws, you may be limiting your resale buyer pool.As @Blair Poelman mentioned, occupancy laws happen at the city level and some are more relaxed than others.  

We talked about it some more this weekend, and she's worried if I achieve FI through RE, I'll become a lazy bum ;-)  I argue there are so many things I would LIKE to do, but can't because I'm burnt out from the 8-5 corporate world and just want to relax and spend time with my family when I'm home.  

Totally agree with @Carlos RoviraMy work environment is a lot more relaxed than most work places out there, since I am a digital artist work on movies we basically work in a studio and phone calls are not a big deal at all.What I did get, when people around me found out I was doing REI, was a little bit of attitude and lots of questions, some of them automatically assumed that I have loads of money set aside just for REI and that I should just shut up and stop bragging.
