@Ariel Cohen I think you might be overthinking it a bit -- (no offense meant at all) I'd simply set up the books with all 3 as owners - then you can give/create an owner account for your partner "123 Street Partner #1" so he/she can log in and see what's going on.  

No offense OP I appreciate what you're doing but if someone submitted an offer for one of my properties that included that "for any reason whatsoever" nonsense I wouldn't even respond.

No offense, but this is why I avoid Attorney's as tenants. 

I had a property management company that is offensive in their charges and their accounting practices.  

It seems the boyfriend is the worse kind as there are 3 tiers, 1 being the least offensive and 3 being the highest and most dangerous required to be registered throughout their entire life. 

Is this typically a fineable offense by the city (Portland if it is against code)?

As you can see by responses, some find assignments perfectly acceptable and others find them offensive, even llegal.  

They could save so much and pay the rent with that.No offense never ever take partial payments because in my state, PA, if you do you just gave the tenant another 30 days to avoid filling for eviction for in the court's eyes.
