Ignoring the internal revenue code, the judge-made-law substance-over-form doctrine and sham-transaction doctrine might also stand in your way.But FWIW, you'll only have to "logic" your way out of it if you're examined or audited.

"I'd put that in the same bin with "We need to spend money on infrastructure" braggadocio by politicians to get elected.In effect, it'll prob be like stimulus check for $1B OR got 10 years back - It'll go in the GenFund, and then 80% will go to PERS (aka the budget blackhole).That's the problem is they're a good idea but mostly are "lets cut a check" and don't audit effectiveness.

doesn't matter to anyone as long as the closing company has other documentation to explain what and why if they were ever audited, but thats on them to determine, not you to worry about.

@Tim ORourke - not sure if this would help or even fit, but what about reaching out to any local, large REI related company (property management, development, investing, etc) and see if they will let you do an efficiency audit in one of their areas.

So, he know his stuff.So, when I got audited a few years ago, after arguing about how Quickbooks causes inaccuracies, when he sent me his files he had several errors.
