After reading posts about out-of-state investors owning/flipping many properties they have never seen in person before due to today's technology, I began to think... are there any situations where you feel like you MUST go visit your property or meet your agent, property manager, or GC in person?

Hi @Mark MacDonald,  I’m in a very similar situation being new and working full time as a construction worker, trying to get my finances in order and saving money.

I'm looking to get out of that situation before next summer. 

How do you know he is not a scammer who saw the death notice in the paper and got keys to the house and made this situation up? 

What is your experience with this type of non-payment situation and how did you handle it?

Brown spots on the ceiling, possible roof or pipe leak.Cracked walls, possibly from stress due to the house settling.Rusted cast iron piping, time to replace the line.The list goes on and on.

It is a good point that being up front early in the screening process about the parking situation should weed out the prospective tenants that find off street parking important.
