I love note investing as you don't have any of the responsibilities of a landlord but you have the security of the asset How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

Karen is right on the money, I totally missed the Listing Agent is repping both sides in this transaction,thus has even fiduciary responsibility to both parties from the moment dual agency was established.Appauled that agent(s) even here see nothing wrong with silently presenting offers to oneself - or in this instance an agent working for oneself - while simultaneously honoring fiduciary responsibility to the buyer too as buyers agent!

Rather than thrust all of the responsibilities on one or more people, and later the blame when things don't work out, treat this like a business and delegate those responsibilities to the professionals.

The purpose of screening him is to make sure you don't have a troublemaker moving into your unit.

That's his responsibility, and his family can asssist.

Successful businesses are the ones that determine from the start that they will act a certain way; usually with integrity, putting the customer first, acting socially responsible, etc etc.
