As a transplant I often rave about the great food here, with the exception of Italian. 

Is it as simple as looking for new restaurants, Starbucks, whole foods, etc. in the area or is should I be looking at more hard data (unemployment, income, etc.).

Generally you can save money with scale so always take that with a grain of salt.Taxes can vary wildly. 

They need to shop for surplus lines type of insurance but most food independent brokers can help you.

Wal-Mart is still building new stores, Amazon bought Whole Foods and has launched pop up retail concepts, and people still love to browse Target/Kohls/etc.

We get together at a bar, have a little drink and a little food and hang out and talk about real estate.No classes, no speeches, no sales pitches. 

All of a sudden you'll have $2K in flights (easily) and once you throw in a rental car, hotel night(s), food, etc. you'll have 10% of your purchase price just in travel.Anyway, I'm beating a dead horse but this sounds like a horrible idea to me :-)

This was particularly difficult because although she were under medical leave, she would order food, buy weed, order clothes and take vacations--paying rent wasn't a priority--but we still had to pay the mortgage.Maybe it doesn't rank higher than someone's medical bills, but rent has to be a priority.In terms of hiring an eviction lawyer, I have a RE lawyer in my network that has recommendations but I wouldn't be opposed to calling the eviction office and asking what law firm files the most evictions.
