Just for grins, our personal home was purchased in Cupertino in 1973 for 34K sold in 1997 for 305K - - you do the math.The clue here is Cupertino; located in the Silicon Valley where the hi-tech companies are co-located -- Google, Oracle, Facebook, Parc/xerox, HP, Apple and it's all located withing hours of the mountains, sea shore, fishing, hiking - - It was only pure luck that my employer moved me to a job in Palo Alto and I got to live there.That gain FORCED me into a 1031 for my MFU

Mountain View and Sunnyvale are filled with many of these buildings.

I guess the mountains of cash he's duped his clients out of must help with that.

So long as this you are aware that you alone are responsible for the risk associated with you actions, be it dropping out of college and being unemployable, or continuing schooling and leaving with a worthless degree and/or mountains of debt, there is no bad choice.  

The rest of the country from the mountains to the coast is just full of natural wonder, staying in the city has very little appeal to me as a visitor.Generally speaking, the closer to the beach, the higher your chances of getting rentals I would think.Vehicles and property is generally purchased through a corporation in CR, so you'd have to get that setup in CR before you make a purchase.  

This proves problematic if one plans to grow his/her portfolio quickly and doesn't have mountains of cash.

Coastline, 4 seasons, just the right amount of rain, mountains for days mmmmmmm *it just smells of freedom* (ok, I'm probably describing NH more than I am all of NE, but that's because of my admiration for the state, lol.
