Indeed, REI is a great venue for growth and life balance and your starting point as a potential real estate investor is right here.

That way if househacking doesn't go well or I'm not ready to be a landlord, I'm not losing as much because I'm not getting too emotionally attached to that kind of growth.

I really hope I'm wrong and this is more like a 1987 stock market sell off where we can see extended growth for another 10-20 years following this correction.Unfortunately I see a lot of red flags and I urge you all to take protective actions. 

Everyone on this forum ignored my posts cause i was always the conservative one who preached value investing over growth. 10 year bull in r.e. has created a normalcy bias that we may have to rethink.

Sounds like OH is a good area to invest, but Columbus or Cincinnati may be better markets according to the population growth and job market. 

Even in 2009-2011, some cities saw tremendous growth and increases in value, while others saw retraction and falling values.

The market is growing due to budding petrochemical growth.

Clearly there are tasks that we’ll all need to complete, and a new type of focus we’ll all need to find, while we look to continue to drive the health of ourselves and our businesses.

The unemployment rate, population growth...? 

I believed when I started out in 2014 that Denver, CO would be among the best cities in the country for long-term future appreciation potential, and that this would translate to cash flow growth as well.
