Let's be real, if everyone else's happy meals are $2.875, and you're at $2.75, and the food is ready reasonably fast and of high quality, your customers will still be plenty happy, with the price and the service... you absolutely don't need to (& shouldn't) drop to $2.50 and throw service/taste/quality out the window to do well (in fact, you will do worse).

If the lender appears to be non institutional, you might get lucky in reaching out, making an offer, and have the note holder accept it.If it's a big bank or a hedge fund, you're probably out of luck.

If anything I expect this would yield more results on the business side considering the current climate, lots of people looking to get out of businesses especially in food service and the like are having to sweeten the deal to a much greater degree these days to attract buyers.
