I actually just helped someone get a duplex in Norristown about 6 months ago, and have taken many clients to the area. 

I just went under contract with a client for a 2-unit that will bring a return around 2%.

The client really wanted this property so we gave it a second try and it was a success!

I also spent two years as the Creative Director for a talent management company where I oversaw the branding and project roll out of our clients.  

The stuff you here about tax deeds being risky is BS from realtors because they are losing you as a client...

If we're just preapproving for vanilla commodity Fannie Mae nothing special & no "creative financing" scenario, I'll let my clients look out of state and when/if they actually go under contract, I'll forward their paperwork to the local-to-the-real-estate lender of their choosing as a courtesy. 

Many of my clients and vendors are located here so I need to live in the area until I create an online retail focused business. 

Not all of us are bad but like every profession, there are those who fail due to lack of knowledge, lack of concern for the client, etc. 

They basically want me to find houses that make good investments to they can sell to their investors.I had actually thought about getting my license years ago with the intent to eventually have a property management company; but determined I am not really cut out to have to deal with clients/tenants all day. 

I am a realtor in the Pittsburgh area and I just met a client who really wants to buy a home, but has a very low credit score as well as minimal money for a down payment.
