Everything I know about economics tells me the US is going to be in a world of hurt in the not too distant future with increase in taxes to pay for entitlement, increase in borrowing to pay for deficits, increase in inflation, decrease in the value of the dollar due to competitiveness, loss of income generating workers due to robotics and AI.

appreciation is a weird thing in Rincon. appreciation is only driven from the investors upping the prices, and holding out for top dollar. long term rentals means you need to find someone who has a job and can pay the bills 60% of the island is on government assistance. 80%+ of Rincon is gringos.
