I'm actually a licensed civil engineer, and was working as a project engineer/manager on municipal capital improvement projects (water treatment plants, RR bridges, etc.)  

I have been in this line of work for 13 yearsor so, and looking for a way to get out of the plants, and not have to travel as much.

I previously suffered from analysis paralysis but have decided that his is going to be the year.My plan is to build a portfolio that will cash flow enough for me to quit my full time job and maintain my current lifestyle within 5 years.

But if your business suffers because you are not around, that is the difference between working IN your business and working ON your business.

Phoenix has been appreciating at healthy levels for the last 4 or 5 years with solid lending practices, largely void of speculators, supported by job and population growth and the resale market is below new construction prices in most areas.I think the recent Intel announcement of tooling the new plant provides just one more basis of strength for the SE Valley.

It's a lot easier to "close down a plant" than it is to "move a teaching hospital attached to a university".

Hey steve,Two rivers/manitowoc/kewaunee area was hit hard when the power plant shut down a few years back.I have yet to look closer, but the area looks economically depressed.

I figured I would start by finding real estate agents in that area that could help with that process but I haven't heard back on any of the messages I've left, so far.The property was used for wholesaling plants, trees shrubs etc.
