Im now studying all the screening tactics to avoid this in the future, what tactics will you incorporate in your future screening?

My physical therapist with a fancy downtown location had their certificate of occupancy held up for 4 months after construction finished, and I'm 100% certain it's because his boss wouldn't pay the right person.

I work from home and we like living in a rural community, plus taxes have increased significantly as a result of the property value going up and us being incorporated into the city recently and it is putting a strain on our family. 

As a former wealth banker and now as the broker/owner of a private realty firm, I don't want my clients to affix their physical signature to any document whenever possible. 

Last but not least please do a physical visit to the area to verify what you are being told.

Go physically look at those properties.  

As in physically doing this yourself.

Learn the pros/cons of various methods of asset protection and incorporate one of them.Good luck
