My question to this forum is, what's the best practice here?

I have invested as a LP in apartment communities where there is a partnership between a government agency and the ownership group to provide affordable housing in exchange for tax abatements and long-term, low-rate government funding. 

I currently have a handful of single family Section 8 rental properties.Ultimately I'm looking to understand the best way or multiple ways of coming up with the down payment for something that’s priced in the 2M-3M range.

After you get the info, you can make a better decision on whether and how best to appeal.

If all they can do is say Yes or No and provide rate quotes, find someone better.

:P There isn't anywhere near enough information in the original post to provide specific advice so I asked the poster to reach out.  10,000 foot overview the best advice would be to speak with a knowledgeable INDEPENDENT insurance agent and be as forthright as possible with your situation.
