I've always felt somewhat drawn to real estate ever since I was very young and am not ashamed to say that at age 7 or 8 I would watch the early morning infomercials with fascination as I saw how easy it was to build your net worth with NO MONEY DOWN and just hours a week.I have a fairly robust background in investing given that my current job requires it, an undergraduate degree in a finance and the beginnings of a CFA charter, so at very least I have a cursory understanding of RE finance, especially from a numbers point of view.

Also, you have watch this because this letter also goes to the seller as well and if he or she gets it and sends it back to the county you have to foot the bill for taxes for the sold price.Right now I am looking at a possible vacant investment property and I know that the tax value on the books now is very low due to condition.

Hey @Elisha Keller I believe mostly so - but I think it might be calculated by square foot, so if they are perfectly equal, yeah it would be 50/50.

We were concerned about buying the property because a family would certainly be renting it from us and we were worried about a child sticking their hand through the fence and coming to grief.Our realtor actually found out who owned the house next door, found out there were tenants in there who weren't even allowed to have a dog, and the owner told the tenants to either get rid of the dog or pay to put up a 6 foot stockade fence.
