My thought is the mortgagor probably can't come up with the cash it takes to redeem if I maintain the property, pay taxes, etc...but I'm sure the mortgagee can.  

I think 30k would be a tight profit margin unless you don't mind managing, repairing, maintaining and cleaning the property yourself.  

To maintain our standard of living and travel the world like we want, we will need to supplement our income however.

Sure, adding value and increasing NOI would be nice, but as long as I could maintain the current NOI, id be happy, for now....w
