Exactly, that goes for just about every contractor, vendor, banker or other professional you'll work with in real estate too.

Since we're also financing through traditional methods for now (depending on the price), we also have a banker.

A letter from banker extending credit to complete build out is acceptable.

While I'm in NW Indiana, my banker at Key is based out of Indy.

Some people are in other professions like realtors, bankers, CPA, etc.

In the meanwhile, I am networking with local bankers and real estate agents that hopefully would be able to help me achieve on getting my first investment property.

If all they need is hookups, I would think getting a builder, a realtor, and a banker to help you out shouldn't be a problem.

Whatever you do the first important step would be to talk to at least 3 mortgage bankers/brokers to see what your price range would be as both for an owner occupied property and for an investment property. 

My company is good enough to offer me a relocation package which includes a real estate agent from Coldwell Banker.

Just not as good as a local personal banker...
