I'd say that unless you're within 100' of a stream, lake, pond, etc, you should budget $35K and hope for $20K-$25K.FWIW, when I took a class on Title V, I was told that cesspools are an automatic fail anywhere in MA.

The fields were separated from the house by a stream, which presumably broke the plume of the Nitrates, but I have no explanation for the septic having no effect on the well.In PA the number 1 industry is agriculture and much of the Nitrates are a farm by-product, as well as Potassium.
