Additionally if rents flatline or do not keep pace with inflation the cash flow dollar is reduced and if property taxes rise, insurance policies, etc. the tenant does not pay for or reimburse typically like a retail property so that can further eat into projected returns.

Unfortunately banks and assent management companies are actually pacing themselves when it comes to releasing the REOs on their books in an effort not to re-flood the market, despite the number of them on their books.

Burglar also took the front door.Keep in mind that the JV partner I think is quite slow to actually get out to do work on the property so my guess is that nothing was happening at a fast pace, the house was probably sitting for weeks(?)
