Thanks for the advice.We are getting the samples taken for proper testing.The house is built in 1962 and we are planning to renovate it which would involve removal of a couple of walls to make the layout more functional.

Re: finding appropriate properties, I think you'd want layouts with equal numbers of beds/baths (ideally), kitchens with good storage, and appropriate parking options if the area demands a car.

Intuitively, I kinda expected term and invest the difference to come out ahead (I would have still been OK allocating part of my money to whole life premiums), especially since the cost per $1,000 rises over time in whole life and universal life.
