First I was required to give the former owner 30 day notice (if it had been a tenant only a 3 day notice would have been required), after that expired I scheduled an eviction hearing (another two weeks).

It takes about 21 days for the process to get on the court schedule and be heard.Honestly I'd suggest your parents do the restraining order.
