If you are going to build your own spreadsheet, I would setup your spreadsheet with a Category column, Vendor Column and accounts column.Categories - this will allow you to track all of your expenses to a specific category so you know "what" you spent money on and compare it to your initial budget.Vendors - this will allow you to track your expenses by each vendor so you know "who" you paid (contractors, home depot, etc). 

I've been buying the 9 year water heaters lately from Home Depot and have been thinking about purchasing the 12 year heaters from now on but is there really that much of a difference between a 6 year and a 12 year other than the warranty?

for example...I use a Menard's card because I get 2% off all my purchases there...I also have a Home Depot card because they give me 5% of purchases. 

I was checking at my home depot today and all I could find for passthrough door knobs were ones for indoor hall and closets.

Because the state is worried that if you make someone cut the grass it's a slippery slope to requiring rose gardens and peonies in the front yard.

Did you forget that you are supposed to find a handyman and pay him $14@hr and call in order to home depot and pay with your credit card?

Do you as a property manager, run to home depot, mow lawns, and shovel snow?
