I also bought 2 acres of raw land in WA state that was a good location on a highway, and gambled on having to get tests done, etc.  

I would imagine there are  people saving well over $100 / week because they can't go out and spend money on drinks/ restaurants, sports events ( $12 beer anyone?

Worth the gamble in my opinion.

@Joaquin Camarasa A tenant I inherited was running the largest illegal sports betting ring in Denver.

I guess the main reasons I’d want to keep the house are 1) ego - to be able to say “I own a rental property” and 2) hope for things to magically turn around and one day sell for profit (gambling...)What would you do in my shoes?

Kids use them to connect their game consoles, family movie time, sports events, etc. 

I see it as a form of gambling. 

Caverns, waterfalls and 2 active volcanoes that provide winter sports venues are a huge draw.

It becomes more of a team sport, but once you have your team in place, it works great.

You're gambling for a chance of appreciation with lesser cash flow.
