I found out about BiggerPockets from an old fashioned internet search, and after some quick browsing and a few podcasts (Thanks @Joshua Dorkin!)

It sounds like a property you bought likely fell into this category, and you were unaware of the fact that it was not legally able to be used in the fashion that it was being used.

They aren't western mountain stream but the fishing is great and they are very beautful for scenery too.

Hi, I'm a Batavia Illinois resident (Western suburbs of Chicago) and real estate investor.

History rarely repeats itself in similar fashion, sure there are lessons to learn and things to avoid. 

TN has 4 large cities, pretty much one in the northern, one in the southern, one in the eastern and one in the  western part of the state. 

I sold a ground-up single-family home and purchased a 19-unit in Cicero, which is a western suburb of Chicago.
