Otherwise you'd take it for free, scrape, and even if you didn't put in a parking lot (capital intensive) you could fence off the lot and use it for storage of some kind. 

Just some alternative thoughts that you might lump under buy and hold but perhaps with less hassle: mobile home parks, storage units, graveyards

I have a few ideas to apply to this and they are as follows: Tent camping and or hunting and possibly fishing, events like small festivals and concerts, photography shoots and boat and or camper storage. .

Fireproof storage containers are relatively inexpensive,  and having immediate access to docs is helpful.

One will be either storage and the other would be campground.

There's also a self storage company among others.

They need to go- whether they rent a storage space and stay with friends or in a motel- and it is not your problem.
