Economic Update                                                    (Monday, August 24, 2020)Its going to take years for our economy to fully heal from the economic disaster brought about by COVID-19 and the government-mandated shutdowns which continue to limit economic activity across our great country.

The Austin market has survived countless election cycles as well as economic cycles.  

But with the housing crisis in San Diego, the have relaxed ADU laws and even waive the permit fees!

Of course the effects of oil company consolidation and the economic fallout of the virus may have a bigger effect than an increase in military in the area...

There's a lot of wisdom in that since banks don't want to have too much exposure in case any one investor goes belly up or has a midlife crisis and decides to cash out refi all their properties and flee the country.

By the time it was noticed we were in the middle of the Covid crisis and the IRS was backed up.  

Some markets have been hit harder than others of course.It's probably a result of sample selection bias because people that are on BiggerPockets are interested in real estate investing and far more likely to be educated on the subject and therefore better equipped to handle a crisis like this.

That being said, I as many others, choose this channel (in the right real estate market) because of the options it provides as a consistent investment through economic volatility.

I'm still interested in Alaska, but it seems that any good economic news is lacking.

Coupling that with the massive economic growth in the area, I really think it would be a great fit.
