You think you should be able to choose whether or not you put the financial system at risk (by not having health insurance) and believe that it is your prerogative to burden the system with unexpected and unplanned and uncovered expenses and that government should mind their own business and let you play.

And remember, there is no software currently that unplugs the potty or removes squirrels from the fireplace chimney.

A fun fact about myself is that I once was throwing trash at a nearby dumpster for a family friend after helping her yard sale with her son and we almost got attacked by a squirrel who was apparently waiting in the dumpster.

My ideal property profile would be 1 or 2 bedroom units within the Squirrel Hill or Shadyside neighborhoods that caters to student housing for those attending Carnegie Mellon University.

I rented the first property to a family with a special needs kid who has unplanned/not schedulable medical issues. 

We as tenants have solely documented and paid for all issues like a broken oven, broken dryer, raccoons  and squirrels in the attic, exterminating, broken front door lock and gutter cleaning (200lbs of stuff removed - we weighted it). 

I’ve trapped larger pests for years myself such as groundhogs, raccoons, squirrels but tend to use regular pest control for mice, wasps, ants, the usual outside suspects for the exterior of my multi family properties.

We are continuing to squirrel away money as best we can, I was just focusing on the "people do it with less" mentality and working to get started sooner than later.  

Jonathan, great job squirreling away money toward a goal you've done a pretty good job of sketching out. 

Those that don't, well, ask one of those squirrels that run across your path as you're driving down the road, how many times they can misjudge the cars approaching.
