I won't go check in on them every day but I will "drop in" unexpectedly, or I will call them on "facetime", or I will have a trusted individual show up just to see what is going on. 

And unexpected things happened which shifted what I need and when.

However, it does not provide the same coverage as homeowners insurance, which provides financial protection in case of damage to personal property, disaster or accident such as fire damage or theft.  

My attorney recommend I withdraw my claim so as not to get caught up in something unexpected and to be free of this case which i did as they had been gone for several months.

As I'm sure you know watch your expenses on this one closely to try to re-coop some of the unexpected costs associated with the furnace.

The unexpected increase in coverage leads to a further increase in premiums which we never asked for.

For me I give them 30 days rent free after the accident (not fire).

so really I didn't care what it looked like after I left, because the immediate benefit to my personal finances and wealth happened while I was living there.Two years later we had an opportunity to move to another area of town that came up unexpectedly and at that point I ran the numbers and the rent appreciations made it easy for us to make that move.
