So, the terms of your lease should be catered to that, with very strict insurance terms, personal guarantees behind any company signing your lease, requirements that lessee handles all repairs and maintenance, additional security deposits, and I would go so far as requiring minimum review quality for the host, limits on quality of guests they can accept, etc.And to your point about Airbnb not doing background checks, you are right.

@John Michael RobersonI agree with @Kory Reynolds: tax-wise, it is a workable plan, as long as you are hands-off, which in technical terms is known as failing material participation.I would caution however against focusing strictly on taxes.

This was in 2021 so they are probably more strict about it now, but still something to look into.The interest rate for an investment property in the U.S. can be quite high if you are a foreigner and using a DSCR loan.

This is not the only time that I have dealt with this but what really opened my eyes is I just asked my insurance rep for a quote for an off market 6plex that was brought to me and she pretty much warned me that a lot of her clients are steering away from investing in the Canton City jurisdiction strictly because of the code inspectors.Have any of you ran in to this problem?

They highly encourage you to become educated in the topics yourself, rather than strictly relying on the CPA, which I like a lot.Youll get referred to a CPA that they themselves have trained, and the firm we got referred to is great.I'll be honest though, it took me about a year to pull the trigger on this due to the cost, but I am kicking myself for waiting that long, as my first years tax savings will be much more than the price I paid.
