Multifamily "commercial" is going to be different than office, industrial, retail, hotel.  

Real estate agent transacts mostly retail properties where wholesalers mostly transact distress properties or vacant land.

The situation is that I own a commercial retail building. 

We currently own a 4bdr house, about 370k left in mortgage, retail value ~580-600k, monthly mortgage ~2600 per monthWe would be gone for 2 to 3 years.

Area has mix of older retail strips, motels, banks, gas stations, some QSR, a few independent restaurants, services (barber shops, etc.), and retail, warehouses, factories, and a business incubator for entrepreneurs. 

Mid-term Rentals: Utilize platforms like Furnished Finder for still higher rental income potential but less management than a nightly rental requires.Commercial Real Estate: Explore opportunities in office buildings, retail spaces, or industrial properties for potentially higher returns.

STR's are a different beast entirely, whether professionally managed or not, but they do allow for an easier/quicker exit than traditional commercial such as retail, office, warehouse, or multi-family.

The RE used as collateral are either SFH, multi-fam, or small commercial (like a small retail store), and all in Calif. 

I own a multi-use building on main street in Mount Vernon, Iowa, 2 story with retail on first floor (restaurant) and two apartments upstairs.
