Doing my first protest this year and had a strange experience at informal hearing this morning.Sales comps provided by the county (which I requested) clearly suggest that my house is overvalued by close to 100k (I'm in a mid-200k neighborhood) - I can explain why if helpful but that's essentially the situation.

Now I just have to figure out how or if I should even respond to her protest email and hope she doesn't decide to take it to small claims court. 

If it is, I would definitely protest the assessed value ASAP upon purchase.

This property is not in Seattle, but it is a suburb outside of a major city.I've never lived in a time where protesters took over 6 blocks of a major city and forced a police precinct to shut down.

Their 'handlers' met with me and said if I kicked them out I would be met with radical protesters being sent to our home and other properties.

The only effect that I felt was about four months ago when Citi notified me that they are jacking up my interest from 7.5% to 14% and when I called to protest, they blamed it on "Recent economic developments" - I paid off my balance (Which was at the time about $2,700 out of $20,000 LOC) and that was that.

I protested most of my tax bills here in Texas.

But the ones in my geographic area dont give for my project, there has been only one very rude one so far, :protest: which is not bad considering how many I have talked with at this point.
