leave it- don't have to deal with taking it down (touch up paint, time to go out and get it), but obviously costs $300 or so when I have to buy a new onetake it- saves the money but I have to take the time to go get it and if the paint peels off when taking it down, I have to touch it up or get someone to come and touch it up

It is very difficult to find a proper paint that adhere to granulated roofing AND will not peel for some time due to weather.

A couple minutes gently trying to lift one will tell the story.This is a viable option as well as long as the shingles can be peeled back enough not to crack.

I remember the owners always complaining that they had to repaint every so often and the paint would peel off.I would never paint bricks unless they were pink or orange.
