I feel your pain, very much so!

You're not going to walk away exclusively with feelings of pain or pleasure as-in feeling like you "paid for nothing" or "overpaid" if no defects in the sewer line are found OR feelings of "it was worth every penny" or "thank god I had it done" if defects were found. 

Since the White Coat Investor analysis I posted earlier seem to be debated by others yet to post counter-point sources I'll share another source that I found while researching WLI a few years back, Consumer Reports. https://www.consumerreports.or...In this analysis from one of the most independently-funded, unbiased consumer advocacy groups in America the outcome was the following: < 5 years: poor investment (versus term)16 years: you break even on cash surrender value + value of insurance received+20 years: dividends exceed term + treasuries alternative, surrender charges disappear In sum CR concludes: This mixed bag of potential benefits and costs is complicated enough for consumers to navigate, but poor disclosure robs consumers of the information they need to comparison shop.

I have a rental portfolio of 15 properties and a primary residence on a mortgage. 4 of which are in Indiana and plan on selling those this year. 6 single family homes in Pa in the same area and 2 duplexes (2 units each) .

They talk about all the money they have made and then like magic, they are gone (although I am sure Josh makes some of them disappear).3) The "gurus" themselves show up in defense of their programs.

It'll be a pain in the butt, potentially, but at least you'll be positive. 

It's unlikely the house is going to disappear after the 15-year depreciation period is up.

It's unfortunate but side deals are more of a pain than anything!
