Hi @Debbie Cost, The California Franchise Tax Board issued Notice 2019-05 stating installment sale "arrangements" designed to defer taxes when a 1031 Exchange fails will not defer taxes.

Last year I decided to finally make the plunge after being paralyzed by analysis for far too long...BUT those efforts were sidelined when I decided to sign a contract to open 12 units of a restaurant franchise concept in NC and SC (and yes I still have my corporate job...for now)!
