The Fannie and Freddie programs handle this issue slightly differently.

From what I see, there are people who invest in different real estate markets all over the country.

If you do sell, think about where you’d put the money, whether into more passive investments like index funds or REITs, or possibly diversifying into a different market with better opportunities.If you decide to keep renting, you’re in a pretty solid spot right now.

How would the situation differ with a home that’s never been a STR but would become one, or a home that’s for sale now that is a current STR.

Understand the fees involved and calculate the total cost for an entire year of management so you can compare the different managers.

I work with 2 different PMs given properties in different markets.  

I have heard different positions about this... both have good points; on one side the new or small wholesalers are more "direct", many times only "one closing" instead of 2 (big companies) which can save a lot of money if you do several deals per year.
