If you don't have good egress and have to get it water proof (my basement takes on water every year, we just have our storage boxes on short stilts, as it was way too expensive to fix the problem), it's probably not worth the effort to finish the basement.For rental comps, you could start monitoring Craigslist in the areas you like weekly and putting the data in Excel so that you have higher quality comp data than what is on Craigslist right now.

If it's a misunderstanding, I would do many drive bys at different times to monitor vehicles and see if you can get clues on who is living there.

Broke right at the sharkbite connector..which leads me to believe this happened to the previous owner as well.shameless plug.. but the systems work..so i hope i can help someone on here..http://www.greencanarymonitoring.com/residential-monitors/I have the wsg30 system..have water detection setup in the basement, sinks and obviously the garage.

We plan to vacay and scout out the area for our own future rental property.I would think a good property management is key too, if it's a few hours away.Or at least an infrastructure to "clean"/ inspect between visits.I have seen many different contracts. some just a page, some a novel.I have seen relaxed landlording based on the honor system.I have seen strict landlording with RULES and REGULATIONS.I have been in homes, where stuff broke and they were able to fix it right away...that is my biggest issue b/c this lake is 2+ hours awayOne vacay home had a local residence to help monitor their guests (us)
