I think the STR market will be tricky for the next couple years as the rookies and wanna-be's wash out because they bought at the peak and in bad areas.

Considering the potential income I lost due to the timing and cost savings I got in return, I just consider it a wash. 

The problem is the chemicals in the pool, react with the sealant, and instead of having a really nice rock layout where you see color running through the veins in the rock kind of thing, you see a washed out surface because the chemicals from the pool really interact with the sealant.

Upon further research, the owner is in his 70's, has been in business for 50 years and has a pretty large and diverse portfolio, including 736 other multifamily units in eight separate complexes, a self-storage/car wash, three mobile home parks, several commercial properties, several undeveloped parcels and several single family homes.
