Also, WRITE DOWN ANY VERBAL AGREEMENTS and show it to him...you would be amazed what changes when people read what they think they said, yourself included Involve a lawyer/accountant early, maybe offer to pay them jointly to monitor a fair agreement and make sure you both understand tax implications.
