I hear about how horrible LA is and from everything I'm reading its basically trying to solve its homeless situation by burning the landlords via moratorium extensions and calling credit scores unequitable so landlords can no longer use them just like employers can't screen for criminal background.

Definitely use a tenant screen service, do a criminal, credit, and eviction background check. regarding the eviction check many times it won't show up, because the landlord will not follow through with the process.
