If you have a solid day W2 day job and are looking to use real estate as a long term wealth building strategy, a property like this may or may not make sense.

Two of the most common strategies are House Hacking or Live In Flips.

Thats pretty common with all kinds of companies

Most times with balloon payments, the lender expects you to refinance into something longer term or pay the balance off in full (common with house flippers for example) 

I've heard of mentees that started out cleaning up construction areas on a flip at the end of each work day or picking up supplies at Home Depot and delivering them to the job site.

You could also have a separate agreement outlining house rules...I havent done this but it's something i'm considering.Here are a few issues that have come up while I've house hacked:- Tenants disagreeing about how clean the common areas should be, WHO is cleaning, and whether it's worth having a cleaning service (monthly)- the house's temperature- Some tenants leaving things out in the common areas and other tenants getting annoyed at it.Every situation is going to be different, but if you've ever lived with roommates...it's similar to that, except you're not paying rent!
