Since the wiring is on top of the current plaster I need to either run the wire inside the plaster wall before drywalling (preferred) or just have the surface wire re-installed after the drywall is installed.Any ideas of approximate costs for running existing wiring inside plaster?

Hi Rebecca,There are plumber installable devices known as sewer backflow prevention devices.You might want to talk to a plumber and see if installing one (or more) of these might help keep this from happening in the future.Here is a good demonstration of large one for the main discharge line: https://www.youtube.com/watch?
